This week, we were honored to work with Earvin “Magic” Johnson and the Magic Johnson Foundation on the launch of its 20th Anniversary Campaign with “Point Forward Day,” a national day of awareness and testing to celebrate 20 years of impact and community empowerment. MJF:20 kicked off November 7th with a press conference with Magic Johnson exactly 20 years to the date of his HIV announcement. The Lakers organization was in attendance to support, including Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, Owner Jerry Buss, and former teammates A.C. Green and James Worthy. As part of MJF’s “Campaign 40” fund raising initiative, Mandalay CEO Peter Guber, AEG President Tim Leiweke, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong and more notable philanthropists joined on stage to present a one million dollar donation to the foundation.
